RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say eight churches in Monroe County have been burglarized since October and the thefts may be linked.
The Monroe Evening News reports (http://bit.ly/Tw50GM ) the latest break-in happened Wednesday at Grape Missionary Baptist Church in Raisinville Township, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.
The sheriff's department says a window was forced open at the church. Cupboards and cabinets were searched and two jugs of change collected for the needy were taken. Christmas presents also were reported stolen.
The church break-ins have been reported since Oct. 1. Authorities are investigating whether the same person might be involved in the thefts.
