Whitmer fans still proud of team

TOLEDO, Ohio -

The Whitmer Panthers ended their perfect season with a loss to Cincinnati Moeller at the Division I Championship on Saturday night. But fans are still proud of their team.

Fans gathered in bars near the school to root for the Panthers; many at Digger's just a few streets over from Whitmer High School.

Even though Whitmer lost to Moeller in their very first shot at the Division I title, the die-hard Panther fans were still impressed.

Whitmer supporter Jeri Zaborski said, "We're still proud of them, regardless. Either way, they worked very hard to be we're they're at right now."

Fans say they are proud that two Toledo teams made it to the state championships. Central Catholic took home the Division II Title on Friday.
