Ohio police officers win $1M in Powerball lottery

Posted: Updated:

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A group of Columbus police officers will get to share $1 million from a winning Powerball ticket.

The group just missed out on last week's big $588 million jackpot, matching 5 of 6 winning numbers.

About two dozen officers had pooled their money to buy more than 50 tickets for the drawing.

The officers will take home about $30,000 each

Lt. Kevin Conley tells The Columbus Dispatch  that everyone in the office was pretty low-key about the winning ticket.
