A Columbus man faces felony drug charges after a traffic stop on I75 in Wood County. Authorities say the driver was acting suspiciously and avoided an officer from Perrysburg Twp.
According to investigators, the driver threw a large trash bag from his vehicle before troopers pulled him over.
Police retrieved the bag and found 25 marijuana plants and a an electric meter. Authorities say the meter is used for marijuana cultivation.
According to troopers, the
driver, Craig E. Sheppard, 26, admitted he owned the contraband. Sheppard was booked at the Wood County Jail and is charged with tampering with evidence, trafficking marijuana and possession of criminal tools.
If convicted, Sheppard could face up to 10 years in prison and up to $15,000 in fines.
