4 men sentenced for roles in 2 murders

Posted: Updated:

Four men were sentenced today for their roles in two separate murders. The sentences were not light.

It's a crime that's torn apart the lives of several families. Four men sentenced to prison for their roles in the murders of Darnell Townsend Tall and Raynail Gaiter. His aunt wants the violence to stop.

"I just feel like black on black is getting out of control. We are just doing to much and I hope it ends now because not only are we suffering the other side is suffering too. So I just hope they learn from this experience and nobody else has to go through it," said Raynail Gaiter's Aunt Dionne James.

These four men didn't pull the trigger, but helped plan the robberies. November 7, 2011 Darnell Townsend-Tall was shot, killed and robbed of six hundred dollars. It happened on Weber street. Reynard Lewis and Darrick Newsome were given life sentences for the killing. Three days later Lewis, Newsome and these four men robbed, shot and killed Raynail Gaiter over drugs.

Today a judge sentenced Kurt Finley to 12 years,  Kevin Arnold to 8 years,  Quandre Willingham to 15 years and Samojay Edwards to 12 years. They apologized to their victims family and their families. There was an outburst in court when the judge sentenced Edwards.

The victim's family knows the long prison sentences won't bring back their loved one, but says it sends a strong message.

"We should work hard to keep guns off the streets," said the victim's aunt.
