Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes continues WHAC play this week with a pair of conference contests.  The Gray Wolves will entertain Aquinas on Tuesday evening at the Stroh Center on the campus of Bowling Green State University before traveling to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday to face the Cardinals of Concordia (Mich.).

Tickets: Admission to Tuesday's game against Aquinas at the Stroh Center is $5 for everyone and tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the game.

On the Air: Tuesday's contest will be  broadcast live locally on BCSN, which is part of Buckeye Cablesystem.  The game is also scheduled to re-air on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 a.m. as well as at 3 p.m.

Head Coach Andre Smith: In his third season both on the Lourdes bench and overall as a men's collegiate head coach, Andre Smith has a 34-37 (.479) record.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Aquinas have split a pair of meetings all-time, with both contests taking place last season.  The Saints downed Lourdes 86-56 on Nov. 30, 2011 in Grand Rapids, Mich. before the Gray Wolves rebounded with a 46-45 victory at Tam-o-Shanter on Jan. 21, 2012.  Lourdes and Concordia have split four previous meetings, with each school winning twice.  Last year the Gray Wolves posted a 62-58 win in Ann Arbor during the WHAC tournament after falling twice during the regular season, 57-55 and 78-66.

Wrapping Up Last Week: The Gray Wolves dropped a pair of games to NAIA nationally-ranked conference opponents last week.  On Wednesday Lourdes fell 58-48 to #24 Madonna at Tam-o-Shanter.  Corey Harvey led the Gray Wolves scoring 11 points off of the bench.  The Crusaders went to the free throw line 28 times, making 24 (85.7%) while Lourdes was just 6-of-12 from the charity stripe for the game.  On Saturday the Gray Wolves fell 76-57 at #9 Davenport.  Harvey again led Lourdes with 19 points, but the Gray Wolves committed 21 turnovers in the loss.

Scouting Aquinas: The Saints have won back-to-back games following a 65-51 victory over Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday.  Aquinas also downed Concordia (Mich.) on the road 80-78 last Wednesday to end a three-game road trip.  Brett Pfahler leads the way for Aquinas averaging 10.9 points per game while Austin Semple adds 10.5 points per contest along with a team-leading 6.4 rebounds per game.  As a team the Saints are shooting 44.5% from the floor but are forcing just 11.6 turnovers per contest from the opposition.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals snapped a two-game losing streak on Saturday, upsetting #24 Madonna 72-69 at home.  Concordia will travel to Indiana Tech on Wednesday before hosting Lourdes on Saturday.  John Schaeffer leads the Cardinals averaging 17.3 points per game.  Chatavius Turner adds 16.1 points per contest while Josh Fugate is scoring 14.1 points per game and shooting 48.9% from three-point range.  As a team Concordia is averaging 83.6 points per contest.

Best Start in Program History: Despite losing two straight games, Lourdes' 5-3 record is the best eight-game start in program history.  The Gray Wolves were 3-5 in year one (2010-2011) and 4-4 last season.  In both seasons after nine games Lourdes was 4-5, so the Gray Wolves are assured of having their best nine-game start ever as well.

Streaking: Lourdes won five straight games from Nov. 3-20, the second longest winning streak in program history.  The school record for the Gray Wolves is six straight victories from Jan. 7-25, 2012.

Playing Defense: Lourdes currently ranks tops among all of NAIA Division II allowing just 51.9 points per game this season.  The Gray Wolves have held five of their eight opponents to 51 points per game or fewer.  Lourdes also ranks third in the nation allowing the opponents to make just 37.2% of their attempts from the floor.

Crashing the Boards: Lourdes has outrebounded seven of its eight opponents this season, drawing even on the boards with Madonna last week.  The Gray Wolves rank 11th in NAIA Division II with a +8.6 rebounding margin.

Lourdes Tabbed Fifth in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in fifth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just ahead of Aquinas, and just behind Madonna.  Davenport was tabbed as the conference's preseason favorite for 2012-2013.

Harvey Named to All-WHAC Preseason Team: Senior forward Corey Harvey has been named to the All-Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Preseason Team in a vote of the league's head coaches.  A member of the WHAC All-Newcomer Team one season ago, Harvey averaged 12.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest.  He shot 41.7% from the floor while averaging more than 28 minutes per contest.

Captains Named: Lourdes has two captains on the roster this season.  Serving in the leadership role for 2012-2013 are Corey Harvey and Remy Fleurima.

This and That: Corey Harvey has led Lourdes in scoring in each of the last four games, scoring 19 points for the Gray Wolves last time out at Davenport ... not one player has started all eight games this year for the Gray Wolves ... Lourdes is outscoring opponents 226-180 in the first half this year ... Elvin Butler leads Lourdes on the glass, averaging 5.8 rebounds per contest.
