Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive

13abc launched the "Hope for the Holidays" toy drive last year to provide the Salvation Army a boost in helping families during a challenging economy. Nearly 8,000 new bicycles, games, dolls and other toys were donated.
13abc launched the "Hope for the Holidays" toy drive to provide the Salvation Army a boost in helping children. More than 18,000 new bicycles, games, dolls and other toys were donated last year.

Generous viewers have already contributed hundreds of toys to 13abc's Hope for the Holidays toy drive, including a drop-off of some 1,200 Hot Wheels.

Josh Chevalier began collecting the toys in 1995 and continued to amass more cars until 2003.

He says there's a simple reason he's parting with his collection.

"I just thought, you know, there are enough children out there that can't have a good Christmas," he says. "The less fortunate children could use them more than I could."
