Researchers say teenage victims of dating violence suffer the effects for years to come.
Researchers surveyed 12 to 18-year-olds who were physically and psychologically abused. The results of a five-year followup showed many tended to have depression, weight problems, suicidal thoughts and some drank heavily.
Boys who were victims became anti-social and used more marijuana.
Experts say this should give teachers and parents even more reason to look for signs of trouble in their teen's relationships.
