13abc adopts a Salvation Army Red Kettle

Posted: Updated:

The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign is in full swing but so far this year donations are down compared to last year.

With just a few weeks left in the annual campaign, the Anderson's stores are matching donations dollar-to-dollar this Thursday, December 13 through Saturday, December 15.

13ABC is getting involved, our station has adopted a Red Kettle for a day.

The 13ABC news staff will be ringing the bell all day on Thursday at The Anderson's Maumee location.

The special bell ringing event with 13ABC anchors, reporters and meteorologists kicks off Thursday, December 13th at 8 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m.

Remember, all of the Anderson's stores in the Toledo area are matching donations collected between Thursday and Saturday up to $10,000.

Captain Tawny Zanders says this money is crucial to making sure people that need help year round in Northwest Ohio have the services they rely on. The annual kettle campaign is the Salvation Army's largest fundraiser of the year.
