Lucas County Dog Warden doubling adoption fee

Posted: Updated:

Fees at the Lucas County Dog Warden's Office are going up. County commissioners approved several increases Thursday.

Dog Warden Julie Lyle tells us the move is to hold dog owners more accountable for their pets' care, instead of taxpayers.

Adoption fees will double to $100.

If the dog warden's office has to chase your pooch and pick it up, that'll cost you $20.

The new fees are slated to go into effect January 1.
