Vigils planned for EMU student

Two candlelight vigils are planned for 23-year-old Eastern Michigan University student  Julia Niswender.

Police discovered the Monroe High School graduate's body in her apartment Tuesday night. Officers say there are no obvious signs of trauma, but they are treating the death as a homicide.

There will be two candlelight vigils for Niswender on Friday evening. The first at 6:30 p.m. in Munson Park on Custer Road in Monroe. A second will be held at Big Bob's Lakehouse on the EMU Campus at 8:30 p.m.
