The mother of a 6-month-old baby is in jail, charged in his murder. Avery Bacon was taken to the hospital Monday with severe head injuries. He died Tuesday night.

Amanda Bacon faced a judge Wednesday, accused of throwing the infant in a fit of rage.

The 25-year-old is in the Lucas County Jail one $1 million bond.

Now Avery's father is speaking out about the son he lost.

"I'll never be the same man I was before," says Jeremy Glynn.

It's every parent's worst nightmare, but for Glynn it's a reality. His 6-month-old son Avery died Tuesday night after police say his mother threw him, fracturing his skull.

"It's horrible," Glynn says. "And it's just one thing that we can ask as many questions as we want to, but we'll never fully understand it."

Bacon faced a judge Wednesday. Visibly shaken, she stood next to her attorney as prosecutors upgraded her charges to murder.

Authorities have not released what may have caused her to snap.

"If I had any inkling he was in danger, he wouldn't have been there," says Glynn.

Glynn describes his young son as a happy baby, always smiling. He says he'll always remember his lively personality.

"One day he was going to be something great, I knew it. He was going to do something really big in life," Glynn says. "He had all the tools God gave him, the tools to do it.

Now Glynn says he's trying to get through the holidays without his little boy. Through the tears and heartache, he finds comfort knowing Avery will live on. His family chose organ donation for the child.

"The most beautiful thing I thought of is it's right around the holidays, so Avery is giving a remarkable gift," says Glynn.

Because police are continuing to investigate, Avery's family has not been able to make funeral arrangements.

Glynn says he's not sure how he'll be able to pay for the funeral and burial, but friends and family members are in the process of organizing some fundraisers to help.
