Andrew Z sentenced to jail time and probation

Posted: Updated:

Radio personality Andrew Zepeda, known as Andrew Z, was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating the terms of an alcohol intervention program.

Zepeda was convicted of three felony charges stemming from a break-in at the site of his former restaurant in November of 2010. He was allowed to participate in an intervention program in lieu of conviction, but in October the judge terminated Zepeda's intervention plan and found him guilty of the charges after learning Andrew Z had participated in a celebrity boxing match where alcohol was served.

He'd violated the plan before by going to a local comedy club and appearing in a music video in which he was seen drinking what looked like champagne in a Toledo bar.

He will serve 30 days in the Wood County and jail and the judge placed him on probation for five years.

Zepeda will not be required to begin serving the jail time until January and he is eligible to apply for work release that would allow him to work during the day and return to the jail afterward. He was ordered to continue alcohol treatment and continue repaying the several thousand dollars he owes in back taxes.

As a condition of the probation, Zepeda is not allowed to consume alcohol or go to any business where alcohol is served.
