Snow Reports

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, Ohio -

Through 9 PM, 3.2" of snow has accumulated at the 13abc studio, and snow continues to fall.  There is a persistent band of slightly heavier snow across western Lucas County into Bowling Green.  Some areas could receive another 1" or 2", on top of what has already fallen.  For most of us, though, the storm is winding down.

** A LEVEL 1 SNOW EMERGENCY CONTINUES IN LUCAS COUNTY.

Here are some snowfall reports, thus far, collected from a variety of sources, from NWS storm spotters to viewers.  ** Additional snowfall will add to these totals, in some cases.

9.5" - Lima, Allen County
9" - Marion, Marion County
8" - Port Clinton, Ottawa County
8" - Fremont, Sandusky County
8" - Green Springs, Sandusky County
7" - Kenton, Hardin County
6.2" - New Washington, Crawford County
6" - Findlay, Hancock County
6" - Woodville, Sandusky County
6" - Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County
5" - Fostoria, Seneca County
5" - New London, Huron County
5" - Clyde, Sandusky County
5" - Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County
4" (old report - likely much more now, given persistent snow in this area) - Sandusky, Erie County and also northeastern Seneca County
4" - Sylvania, Lucas County
3.5" - Paulding, Paulding County
3.2" - 13abc Studio, Toledo, Lucas County
2.8" - Hillsdale, Hillsdale County
2" - Adrian, Lenawee County (old report - additional snow since)
2" - Monroe, Monroe County (old report - additional snow since)

Beyond the snow, strong winds have blown the snow into drifts, and dramatically reduced visibilities, especially in the eastern part of our area.  Here are three of the peak wind reports:

* Tree down, 1 mile SW of West Jefferson, Williams County
* Gust to 41 mph in Evansport, Defiance County
* Gust to 40 mph in Toledo, Lucas County

There were likely additional gusts of around 40 - 45 mph in some locations near the lakeshore.

BE SAFE out there this evening and early on Thursday.  Wind chills will be near 10 degrees late tonight, and roads will remain very slick.
