Stickney Avenue stabbing

Police responded to reports of two injured men at separate addresses on Wednesday night, but they believe their injuries are related.

Around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a person stabbed in the 2900 block of Stickney. They found 36-year-old Demorrus Bankston with stab wounds to his chest and head. He was transported to Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center by ambulance and is listed in stable condition.

Right around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, crews were sent to the 700 block of Russell on a report of an individual injured in a fight. Scottie Rice, 52, had a possible broken hand and other non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to Toledo Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Officers are investigating the incident and think the primary crime scene is at another address in the 2900 block of Stickney.  Police say it appears the two incidents are related.
