FINDLAY - The Oilers hold a 1-0 lead in the all-time series against Northwestern Ohio as they topped the Racers by a score of 80-59 during their 36-0, National Championship season of 2008-09.
Josh Bostic led the team with 23 points, which included 19 in the second half.
Bostic scored the first seven points of the final period to break the game open and finished 6-of-11 from the field. He also hit 2-of-5 attempts from three point range and splashed 9-of-10 shots from the free throw line in the victory.
Morgan Lewis also played exceptional for Findlay, scoring 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Lee Roberts added 11 points and eight rebounds while Marcus Parker chipped in 11 points, six assists, four rebounds, two steals and a pair of blocks.
The University of Findlay
The Oilers hung on for a 64-60 win over Grand Valley State University in a physical GLIAC contest on Dec. 17 in Croy Gymnasium.
The Oilers trailed by a score of 28-27 at the half, but built a nine-point lead in the second half. They then survived a rally by the Lakers in the final minute as they hit four free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal the game.
Findlay shot only 34.8 percent (16-of-46) from the floor, but did most of their damage from the free throw line as they connected on 25-of-33 (75.8%) attempts. The Oilers also hit 7-of-20 (35%) three point shots and forced 19 turnovers in the victory.
Junior forward Greg Kahlig led the way with 14 points while senior forward Brad Piehl chipped in 13 points and six rebounds.
Sophomore forward Jake Heagen added nine points and six rebounds while senior guard Aaron Robinson recorded eight points and four boards.
Junior forward Mark Frilling contributed six points and six rebounds off the bench as well for the Oilers.

University of Northwestern Ohio
The Racers sport an 8-5 record on the season and are led by Derrick Tate, who is averaging 16.7 points per game.
Blake Bush and Johnny Elliott are also averaging in double figures at 13.8 and 11.5 points per game, respectively.

Simply the Best
The Oilers have the best winning percentage in NCAA Division II competition since the year 2000, having won 317 games and lost only 66 for an overall winning percentage of .828.
Scoring in Bunches
Junior forward Greg Kahlig is ranked 15th in the GLIAC in points per game as he is averaging 15.0 per outing.
The Oilers are averaging 75.3 points per game this season, the third best mark in the league.
The Oilers are averaging 8.0 steals per game, which ranks fourth in the conference.
Senior guard Aaron Robinson leads the team and ranks ninth in the conference with 1.6 steals per contest.
Getting to the Line
The Oilers have made a big impact on the offensive end with their ability to get to the free throw line and rank second in the conference in free throws made (172) and first in free throw shooting percentage (77.1%).
The Oilers free throw shooting percentage is also the 17th best mark in the nation.
Individually, senior forward Brad Piehl ranks fifth in the conference with a 89.6 percent shooting mark from the charity stripe while senior guard Aaron Robinson checks in sixth with an 87.5 percent shooting clip from the line.
The Oilers have made 74 three pointers this season, the second best total in the GLIAC.

From a percentage standpoint, freshman forward Dylan Kaufman ranks third in the GLIAC in three point percentage, raining down 52.6 percent of his attempts.
Robinson is also amongst the league leaders with a 51.3 percent shooting clip from long range. His percentage ranks fourth in the GLIAC.

Junior forward Mark Frilling is swatting 1.1 shots per game, the eighth best mark in the GLIAC.
The Oilers have several players who will look to reach the 1,000-point plateau this season.

In the last 11 years, the Oilers have won nine GLIAC South Division titles. Overall, Findlay has won GLIAC South Division titles in 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
GLIAC Tournament Success
The Oilers sport a 25-6 record in the GLIAC Tournament, winning titles in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2012.
Findlay has appeared in the championship game of the event eight times in the past ten years. They reached the finals in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012.
Findlay is tied with Grand Valley State for a GLIAC best six league tournament titles.
The Oilers have appeared in ten out of the last 11 NCAA Division II National Tournaments with a 16-9 record, reaching the Elite Eight during the 2004-05 campaign and the Final Four in the 2008-09 season when they captured their first NCAA Division II National Championship.
They also reached the Sweet 16 during the 2007-08 campaign.
