TOLEDO - The NHL's Detroit Red Wings have reassigned forwards Andrej Nestrasil (ahn-dray, NES-tra-shill), Brent Readeke (REHD-eh-key) and defenseman Max Nicastro to the Toledo Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL.
Nestrasil returns to Toledo after appearing in three games with the Griffins and was a plus one. Andrej is second in scoring for the Walleye this year with 7 goals and 17 assists. The former third round pick of Detroit in 2009 is currently on an eight game point streak, which is tied for the longest current streak in the ECHL.
Raedeke has appeared in 14 games this season with Grand Rapids with one goal and three assists. The native of Regina, Saskatchewan collected 19 goals with 15 assists in 131 games over the last two years with the Griffins. Brent signed with the Red Wings in October of 2008, while still skating in the Western Hockey League. He played in 213 junior games in the WHL, with 57 goals and 85 assists.
Nicastro was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round (91st overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Max has appeared in five games this year with the Griffins collecting one point. The Thousand Oaks, California native scored a goal in three games earlier this season with Toledo.
