Hockeyfest benefits paralyzed player

Posted: Updated:

This year's annual Toledo Walleye Holiday Hockeyfest benefited a young man paralyzed in a hockey game.

Five dollars of each ticket to the weekend event at the Huntington Center goes to the KC3 Foundation benefiting Kyle Cannon.

Cannon was playing hockey as a freshman for Clay High School back in 2008 when he was injured and left paralyzed. Cannon is now a freshman at Bowling Green State University.

Event Organizer John Utter said, "The foundation was set up this summer specifically just for Kyle and his needs. We also have raffle ticket sales to raise money for Kyle and his foundation."
