TOLEDO - Looking Back to the Week that Was! The Walleye started the week with a strong performance in Fort Wayne as the Walleye won 5-2 Thursday night. Forward Kyle Rogers scored the first two of four second period goals for the Walleye. Friday night, Cincinnati raced out to a 4-1 second period lead and defeated Toledo 5-3. Saturday night saw Toledo go to a shootout for the first time since November 1st. Kalamazoo goaltender Joel Martin stopped the four shooters he faced as the Wings won 4-3.
Going for Three! Three's were wild Thursday night in Fort Wayne. Forward Max Campbell collected the first three goal game for a Walleye player this season. It was also a first when Willie Coetzee collected three assists in the game.
Shoot the Puck! Toledo has fired 30 or more shots on goal in 13 of the last 14 games. The Walleye are averaging 36.7 shots on goal per game during that stretch while allowing an average of 26.2. Overall, the Walleye currently are third in the ECHL averaging 32.75 shots on goal.
Gametime! Toledo starts the week with a Monday tilt in Fort Wayne. The Walleye have won the last three meetings against the Komets and are 3-2-0-0 in season series. Friday night, Toledo will make an appearance in Kalamazoo. The Walleye have a record of 3-2-0-1 against Kalamazoo this season, but are just 1-2-0-0 in games played at the home of the Wings. Saturday night will be the first ever and only meeting this season between Toledo and Orlando. Sunday will mark another match with Kalamazoo.
