CLEVELAND – Sophomore Inma Zanoguera was selected the Mid-American Conference West Division co-Player of the Week by the league office on Monday. Zanoguera is sharing the division's top honor with Central Michigan's Niki DiGuilio.

Zanoguera's selection marks the fifth time this season that a Rocket has been picked as the MAC West Division Player of the Week. Senior Yolanda Richardson won the award following the week of Nov. 12-18, Shafir won the prize on two occasions following the weeks of Nov. 26-Dec. 2 and Dec. 17-23 and junior Andola Dortch captured the honor following the week of Dec. 10-16.

Zanoguera is receiving this honor for the first time in her career after being selected the GSU Holiday & Hoops Tournament MVP over the weekend, helping Toledo capture an unprecedented fourth tourney crown this season. The Llucamajor, Spain native averaged 8.5 points, a team-high 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals in 34.0 minutes in UT's victories over Atlantic 10 member Charlotte (Dec. 29) and Colonial Athletic Association member Georgia State (Dec.30). She opened the weekend with 10 points, four boards, three helpers and one theft in 33 minutes in a 76-66 triumph over the 49ers. The following afternoon against the host Panthers, she tallied seven points, a collegiate-best 14 caroms, a team-high three dimes and two steals in 33 minutes in a hard-fought 46-43 triumph. With the two wins this weekend, the Rockets wrap up their non-conference slate with a 12-1 mark, equaling the 1993-94 season as the best start in school history.

Overall this season, Zanoguera is contributing 8.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.5 apg and 1.9 spg in 28.5 mpg.

Zanoguera and the Rockets return to the hardwood on Thursday, Jan. 7 when they open defense of their MAC West Division title against DiGuilio and the Chippewas. The opening tip is slated for 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena and will be televised on SportsTime Ohio (STO).
