74-yr-old man hospitalized after car/snowplow accident

A 74-yr-old man is reported in critical condition after an accident on Washburn Road, south of Sylvania Avenue in Richfield Township.

It happened Tuesday around 10:30 in the morning. According to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 74-yr-old James Michaels was traveling southbound on Washburn Road operating a John Deere Lawn Tractor with a snowplow.

Stephen Brown, 29, of Berkey was behind him driving a car. Brown tried to pass Michaels, but struck Michaels' vehicle when the tractor attempted a left turn.

Michaels was taken to Toledo Hospital in critical condition.  The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending further investigation.
