Two people are dead after a house fire on the 300 block of Beech St. in Bryan. It happened shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday.
According to the Bryan Fire Department, flames had fully engulfed the house by the time rescue crews arrived. Crews heard reports on scene that two people were trapped on the second floor of the home.
Around 3 a.m., firefighters were able to bring the fire under control. A half hour later, they discovered the two bodies.
The victims have been identified as 17-year-old Ashley Jenkins and 20-year-old Sebastian McConnell.
Investigators say the fire started on the first floor in the living room, but the cause is still unknown at this time.
