Family wants answers in Temperance man’s killing

Dale Roth is struggling to make sense of his brother's sudden death over the weekend.

"Its a shocker," he said. "A lot of people have had a lot of fun with Ron."

Early Saturday morning, shots rang out in the Inverness Too community in Temperance, Michigan.  Police say, Ron Roth, 46, and a woman drove to a home in the neighborhood.  That's when authorities say Thomas Wallace shot and killed Roth.  Wallace is now locked up on a murder charge.  However, he claims he fired the shots because he was being robbed.

"THere is just so many unanswered questions that we haven't found out yet," Dale Roth, the victim's brother said.

Investigators have not released a motive.  Dale says his brother wasn't perfect, but insists he would never hurt anyone.

"A lot of people thought he was walking on the edge," Roth said.  "This time, it really seems he was caught in the wrong place."

Family members say the 46 year old was a Start High School Graduate.  They describe him as the type of guy who lived life to the fullest with no regrets.

"He was one who would step right into the fire and do anything, whether its good or bad," Dale said of his brother.

While investigators try to solve the crime, the Roth family is trying to figure out what's next.

Monroe County Deputies recovered the car that was driven to the scene in a nearby neighborhood.  Right now, there is no work on the relationship between the alleged gunman and the victim.
