The Lenawee County Sheriff's
Office confirms that a man drowned after falling into Timber
Lake in Cambridge Township.
Emergency crews rushed
to the scene Thursday afternoon. Sheriff's deputies say two men were ice
fishing on Timber
Lake when they both fell
into the frigid water.
When crews arrived, Gerald
Smith, 52, was out of the water. He was taken by air ambulance to Toledo Hospital.
Michael James Shofstell,
52, was still in the lake. He was taken to Allegiance Hospital,
where he was pronounced dead.
