Ohio ex-youth pastor gets 6 months on sex charges

Posted: Updated:

LOGAN, Ohio (AP) - A former southeastern Ohio youth pastor has been sentenced to six months in prison over sex charges involving a 13-year-old girl in the congregation.

News outlets reported Saturday that 31-year-old Travis Branstetter was sentenced to six months on each of 3 counts of attempted gross sexual imposition, to be served concurrently. The sentencing Friday in Hocking County Common Pleas Court followed a negotiated plea agreement in which other charges were dropped.

Branstetter was an ordained minister who was youth pastor for five years at the Church of the Nazarene in South Logan, about 50 miles southeast of Columbus.
