Meteorologists who work for Chinese Meteorological Administration (their parallel to our National Weather Service) say temperatures are the lowest they've been in decades in some parts of the large Asian nation. Officials in China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region estimate crop losses that equate to millions of US dollars, according to China Daily. Additionally, shipping and travel have been greatly impacted by sea ice, which has expanded in areas that typically don't ice over. The Chinese Meteorological Administration is reportedly alerting residents that another cold front will deliver yet another reinforcing shot of arctic air, early this week.

Portions of Moore, Oklahoma were ravaged by a mile-wide tornado this Monday afternoon. This follows a near-record quiet start to tornado season. Strong storms may reach northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan by Tuesday.
