TOLEDO - Max Nicastro scored the only goal for the Walleye, as they fell in their second shootout in two nights, this time to the Kalamazoo Wings 2-1 on Sunday at the Huntington Center. Toledo is now 19-13-0-4 on the season and is 9-6-0-3 at home.

Toledo had several scoring chances throughout the first period, but were finally able to solve Kalamazoo goaltender Joel Martin 17:15 into the game. Max Nicastro one-timed a shot into behind Martin after taking a great pass from Willie Coetzee. Travis Novak also assisted on the tally.

Kalamazoo's Alexandre Mallet would score with :25 to play in the first period, getting a puck behind Walleye goaltender Jordan Pearce to tie the game up at 1-1.

Toledo registered nine shots on goal through the first period of play.

The second period saw a lot of back and forth action, as neither team was able to break the 1-1 tie. Walleye forward Travis Novak and Kalamazoo's Dustin Cloutier dropped the gloves for a fight at the 12:09 mark.

The Walleye held the Wings to just three shots on goal in the second period, while Toledo fired 10 at Martin.

Despite several scoring chances by both teams in the third period, the score remained tied up at 1-1, sending the game to overtime for the second night in a row.

No goals were scored in the overtime period, sending the game to a second straight shootout.

Kalamazoo's Eric Kattelus scored the only shootout goal, lifting the Wings to a 2-1 win
