Construction of the new GateKeeper roller coaster continues at Cedar Point.
Workers are demolishing the main gate area and building the foundation for two tall keyhole towers. Once complete, riders will fly through those narrow slots and directly over the main gate.
The coaster will stand 170 feet tall and reach speeds of 67 miles per hour. The GateKeeper will accommodate approximately 1,700 riders per hour.
Crews will begin testing GateKeeper this spring. The ride is scheduled to open May 11th.
