OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A third raw sewage spill since Thursday has been reported in the Kalamazoo area.
MLive.com reports that about 1,200 to 1,500 gallons of untreated raw sewage overflowed from a manhole and into a storm drainage area Monday in Kalamazoo County's Oshtemo Township.
On Thursday, city officials announced at least 3,000 gallons of raw sewage overflowed from a manhole in Kalamazoo.
On Friday, officials announced that at least 300,000 gallons of sewage overflowed into wetlands near in Kalamazoo. Officials have said that sewage release shouldn't do any long-term damage to the area near Averill Lake in the southwestern Michigan community.
