TOLEDO – The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned forward Terry Broadhurst to Rockford. Additionally the IceHogs have recalled defenseman Ben Youds and forwards Byron Froese and Brandon Svendsen.
Broadhurst, 24, has registered 12 goals, 19 assists with the Walleye during his rookie year. The forward's 31 points rank second on the team. In 2011-12, the Orland Park, Ill. native joined the IceHogs following his junior season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Youds, 24, comes to Rockford pacing all ECHL defenseman in scoring with 27 points (4g-23a). The 2011-12 campaign marked Youds' first professional campaign, and the d-man notched 17 points (4g-13a) in 57 games for Rockford as a rookie. He appeared in one contest with the Walleye, tallying the game-winning goal in overtime on Dec. 27, 2011. On Thursday, Youds was named to the 2013 ECHL All-Star game.
Froese, 21, has played 20 games with the Walleye registering 5 goals, 12 assists. The 6' 1" center finished the 2011-12 season 4 goals, 6 assists in 57 contests with the IceHogs.
Svendsen, 27, has recorded four points (1g-3a) in four games with Toledo despite missing the first part of the 2012-13 campaign due to injury.
