Local woman battling cancer will meet reality star

Posted: Updated:

A local woman battling cancer is getting national attention from movie stars, athletes and musicians. Josie Langsdorf has terminal lung cancer, but as you are about to see it hasn't slowed her down too much. Thanks to her oldest daughter, Josie is about to meet one of the stars of one of TV's biggest reality shows.

Josie Langsdorf lights up a room and she smiles in spite of what she's facing. Two and a half years ago she was diagnosed with lung cancer. As a non-smoker the diagnosis was shocking, " I had severe chest pains for about two years and they eventually found out that I had a tumor wrapped around my pulmonary artery, and that's when the nightmare started."

Josie's treatment has included surgery to remove one of her lungs and aggressive chemotherapy. The cancer was kept at bay for awhile, but it is back, "I know my time is limited so it's a matter of how do I want to live the last year or months of my life."

And living it she is. Josie has been able to check off some of the things on her bucket list, like trips to Las Vegas and New York. After seeing a preview of the reality show "Keeping up with the Kardashians" she decided one of the stars ,Scott Dissick, would be fun to have a drink with.

Her daughter Ashley got right to work tweeting the story, "You can't help but be happy when you are around my Mom, in fact I forget she has cancer half the time. She doesn't live her life like she has cancer."

Within hours Ashley's tweet had been re-tweeted by movie stars, athletes and musicians and a private message came in from Scott himself, "What did he tweet you? If this is real and it is on your bucket list I'd be happy to have a drink with you."

Ashley is a little jealous, "I can't believe Scott Dissick has been tweeting my Mom, I am so jealous of my Mom!"

It looks like Josie will be raising a glass with Scott soon, "I hope this brings attention to cancer. You can't let it get you down you have to keep living and keep the faith, no matter how hard it is to find the positive, because everything in life happens for a reason."

Josie says it is not clear yet whether Scott will be coming to her house or if she'll be visiting him in California. the details should be worked out in the coming days. Josie says she would also love to meet Hillary Clinton.
