Auto show goers like Jeep

Posted: Updated:

It's a product of Toledo, and its getting a lot of attention in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show.

"This is the perfect combination," Michael Bower from East Lansing said from inside a Jeep Wrangler.  "It's something you can drive highway, take it camping with the family and really enjoy it."

Of course, we're talking about the Jeep Wrangler.  Several can be seen on display at Cobo Center on the showroom floor, and the newer models won't disappoint.

"I can have a lot of fun, the quality is really good and its fund to drive so its a good overall package in an American vehicle," Bower said.

He has never owned a Jeep, but Bower says its American made and has all the bells and whistles.  Jennifer Gasparian, of California agrees.  She's been the proud owner of a Jeep, twice.

"I used to own a Jeep Cherokee and I loved it," she said.

Now, she's anticipating the newest model, set to go into production in May.  Unlike the Cherokee, it will be made in the glass city.

"Its always fun to see what's out there," she told 13abc.

So it seems there was a taste of Toledo in the Motor City and no one was complaining.

"There are a lot of SUVs out there, but there is only one Jeep," Bower said.
