BGSU to cut 100 faculty positions

Posted: Updated:

Officials at Bowling Green State University are planning to cut approximately 100 faculty positions for the fall.

A spokesperson says all the cuts will come from attrition and the expiration of some one-year teaching contracts. The university says it must evolve to meet the changing needs of students.

Bowling Green's Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs said the university's top priority is student success and that they constantly evaluate staffing to meet student needs.

He assures students the move will not have an impact on the quality of education.
