SYLVANIA - Tenth-ranked Davenport used runs of 13-0 and 20-0 during the first half to seize control on Saturday evening as the Panthers defeated Lourdes 90-54 at Tam-o-Shanter.

The Panthers shot 52.9% from the floor for the game and forced 29 Gray Wolf turnovers which led to 35 points, including 21 turnovers in the opening stanza.

"I thought we played with lots of energy today," head coach Zareth Gray stated after the game.  "I'm not disappointed with our effort or energy.  I'm most disappointed with the number of missed layups and free throws we had tonight."

Davenport led by seven, 17-10, with just under 12 minutes to play in the first half when the Panthers scored 13 unanswered points over a five minute stretch.  Lourdes was able to chip its deficit down to 15 before Davenport scored 20 straight in the five minutes before the half ended to take a 52-19 lead into the locker room.

Lourdes was never able to cut the deficit under 30 in the second half, but played the Panthers much closer, being outscored just 38-35 over the final 20 minutes.

Tarynn Hampton (Saint Louis, Mo./Alton H.S.) had her second straight double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds while Courtney Slepko (Cleveland, Ohio/Normandy H.S.) added a season-high 11 points for the Gray Wolves.  Ty Ali (Chicago, Ill./Rich South H.S.) added eight points.

Tiesha Stokes led Davenport (20-1, 12-1 WHAC) with 19 points while Leah Sevcik came off of the bench to score 11 more for the Panthers.  Kendra Cook also tallied double figures with 10 points while Karli Harris had 10 assists.
