Groupon shuts down gun-related deals

Posted: Updated:

Online coupon company Groupon has announced it's canceling all its offers related to guns. The decision comes about a month after the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

The company says all current and scheduled gun-related deals in North America are on hiatus while it reviews its internal standards.

The company didn't reference the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in the announcement, simply saying the gun category is under review after recent consumer and merchant feedback.

Gun deals on hold include those for shooting ranges and clay shooting.
