Lake ice is growing again

Posted: Updated:

The recent spell of cold weather is once again taking its toll on Lake Erie. Ice is developing along the lake's shorelines and the western 1/3 of the lake. The ice concentration is currently at 35 to 50 percent between Toledo and Sandusky. The amount of ice on the lake is expected to jump in the next few days. The ice concentration is forecasted to be between 75 to 90 percent by Tuesday morning. The ice will grow to cover 50 percent or more of the lake surface by the end of the work week.
