DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wingsannounced that goaltender Petr Mrazek and forward Tomas Tatar have been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.  To make room on the 23-man roster, Detroit has reassigned goaltender Thomas McCollum to the Griffins and placed defenseman Brendan Smith on injured reserve.  McCollum served as Jimmy Howard's backup the past six games in Detroit but did not enter into any game action.  Smith was injured during the first period of Saturday night's 4-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

Mrazek, 20, was Detroit's fifth round selection (141st overall) in the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft.  The Ostrava, Czech Republic, native is in his first professional season with the Griffins and has posted a 16-7-1 record, 2.26 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage in 25 appearances.  Mrazek recorded his first professional shutout on Saturday night kicking aside all 32 shots he faced in a 1-0 win over the Abbotsford Heat.

Tatar, 22, was selected by Detroit in the second round (60th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.  The 5-11, 176-lb. left wing is currently in his fourth season with Grand Rapids and leads the team with 19 goals.  In 44 games this season with the Griffins, Tatar has posted 39 points (19-20-39) and 44 penalty minutes.  He appeared in nine games for Detroit during the 2010-11 season, scoring his first career goal while making his NHL debut on Dec. 31, 2010, vs. the New York Islanders.
