Toledo teen charged with 2 murders

Posted: Updated:

Tra'quawn Gibson's alleged gang activity could send him to prison for life. He was indicted again this time for a different murder and shooting. The teen allegedly shot and killed Deonta Allen and shot Limmie Reynolds.

"I felt like we finally got the person behind bars that did this to my son and did this to Deonta Allen, which I call my son also. He was like a son to me too," said Reynolds mother Cynthia Addie Reynolds.

Police say Gibson shot Allen and Reynolds in the 1900 block of Fernwood in October. Allen died. A month later detectives say Gibson shot and killed his ex-girlfriend Crejonnia Bell. Police are investigating whether the two murders are connected.

"We know he did both of them. As far as motives for the murders. I think that's what you're asking; is the motive for the one murder the result of the other? We can't talk about that right now," said Toledo Police Sgt. Joe Heffernan.

Gibson is no stranger to police. He has an extensive juvenile record with 27 misdemeanors and one felony.

"One time he actually broke into Scott High School and assaulted another student. So he's been known to us for a while. A known gang member and been in a lot of trouble; very violent. We're just glad we're able to take him off the streets," said Sgt. Heffernan.

A relief to this mother who now hopes justice will be served.

"Bottom line, I hope he gets what he deserves, because you can't take a life," said Ms. Reynolds.
