Oregon is offering a 10-week Citizens Police Academy course to educate the general public about the police department.
Officers hope it will dispel myths and misconceptions about law enforcement. Citizens don't come away with police powers upon graduation, but the department hopes they gain a new appreciation of the responsibilities of the men and women of the Oregon Police Department.
