2 men firebomb Detroit house, killing 1, hurting 7

Posted: Updated:

DETROIT (AP) - Detroit police say two men firebombed a Detroit family's home, killing one person and critically injuring three others.

Police say 8 of the nine people inside the house were injured in the attack, which happened about 6 a.m. Sunday on the city's near east side.

Police Cmdr. Steve Dolunt tells the Detroit Free Press that two people were treated at the scene and six were hospitalized. He says three were in critical and three in serious condition.

The Associated Press left a message with police seeking information.

Dolunt says two men drove up to the house and threw a firebomb through the front window.

He says it's a private home housing a large family ranging from 29 to 60 years old.

So far, no arrests or suspects are reported.
