Fire engulfs vacant house at N. Erie and Locust

Posted: Updated:

A massive fire lit up the evening sky Thursday night. Crews were called to an intense blaze at the corner of North Erie and Locust around 6:00 p.m.

Firefighters tell us the flames were so intense when they arrived they battled the blaze defensively and let it burn out.

Investigators say the home is vacant and boarded up.

We're told it is a likely case of arson.

Crews on the scene said the wind actually worked to their advantage, fueling the fire to burn out more quickly.
