Michigan woman finally home from nightmare cruise

Posted: Updated:

Gina Howe of Saline, Michigan is finally home after being stranded on a cruise ship for five days.

She was one of more than 4,000 passengers and crew members struck aboard the Carnival Triumph after a fire in the engine room.

She says she spent just one night in her hot, dark room with an overflowing toilet before resorting to sleeping on the ship's deck.

"I know the CEO apologized." Howe said. "But he needs to go to room 7331, shut the door in the darkness and try to live there for three minutes."

Howe is a diabetic and was unable to get insulin.
