TOLEDO - Goaltender Jordan Pearce has been reassigned by the NHL's Detroit Red Wings to the Toledo Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Forward Jesse Felten has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye and goaltender Christian Davis has been released as an emergency backup.
Pearce has posted a record of 12-7-0-1 this season with a 2.48 goals against average, a .909 save percentage with Toledo. The native of Anchorage, Alaska is the Walleye All-Time leader in wins (31), appearances (68) and shutouts (5). The 26 year old has been a runner up for ECHL Goaltender of Week three times this season.
Coetzee leads Toledo in goal scoring with 18 so far this season and is second on the team in points with 37. The native Johannesburg, South Africa played last night for Grand Rapids and did not have a point. The 22 year old skated this year in the ECHL All-Star game and collected a goal and assist.
Felten joins Toledo after starting this season with the Dayton Demonz of the Federal Hockey League. In 45 games there, the Cashton, Wisconsin native has scored 32 goals with 29 assists. The 26 year old forward led the 2011-12 Brooklyn Aviators in goal scoring (27) and points (54).
