18-year-old crash victim dies; family wants charges

Posted: Updated:

An 18-year-old hurt in a rollover accident last week on the Anthony Wayne Trail has died.

The victim is Aaron Davis of Toledo.

His family wants charges filed against the driver who hit him.

The crash happened last Wednesday morning at the intersection of the Anthony Wayne Trail and City Park.

Davis fought for his life at Saint V's for days after the accident, but his mom Terri Brown says doctors pronounced him brain dead on Friday.

"He was only 18. He had the rest of his life ahead of him," says Brown.

Brown says her son was driving to school last Wednesday when he got into a car accident.

According to police, Davis was heading east on the Trail attempting to make a left onto City Park when he was hit by a white SUV heading west on the Trail.

The TPD report says witnesses stated the driver of the SUV, 36-year-old Donald McMullin, "tried to beat the changing light."

The family calls the 18-year-old's death "senseless," saying they want charges filed against the driver of the SUV.

"I'm angry and I'm mad," says Brown. "Because you sped through the light, my son who was in the right-of-way was innocently killed. And he'll never be brought back. Never."

Police say detectives will be reviewing the case with the prosecutor's office and then most likely present charges to the grand jury.

Brown plans to set up a memorial fund at Huntington Bank for her son Aaron.
