Lourdes University will host a men's basketball Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference postseason tournament game for the first time on Thursday evening as the Gray Wolves entertain Concordia (Mich.) in the quarterfinals of the tournament at Tam-o-Shanter. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
Faculty, staff, and students will be admitted to the game free of charge, but the individual must show their Lourdes ID. Tickets for the general public will be $7 and available at the door, with children eight and under admitted free.
The Gray Wolves and Cardinals met twice during the regular season with the teams each winning on their own home floor. Concordia was a 68-63 victory in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Dec. 8 before Lourdes won the rematch at Tam-o-Shanter 71-61 on Jan. 31. Lourdes finished the regular season 21-8 overall and 16-6 in WHAC play, and enters as the tournament's third seed. Concordia, the sixth seed, is 14-16 overall and 12-10 in conference action.
The winner of the Lourdes-Concordia game will meet the winner of second-seeded Madonna and seventh-seeded Northwestern Ohio on Saturday in the semifinals. The highest remaining seed will serve as the semifinal host.
On the other side of the bracket, top-seed Davenport will entertain eighth-seeded Aquinas and fourth-seeded Cornerstone will host fifth-seeded Indiana Tech.
The WHAC championship game is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 26.
