A driver fleeing police ran into a tree on Saturday afternoon.
An Ottawa County Sheriff's deputy requested an assist from Port Clinton Police around 4, when a vehicle ran away from an attempted stop in Portage Township.
According to a report, the vehicle went through a gas station parking lot, hit a bush and then headed to another parking lot behind the gas station. Officers saw the vehicle drive through the yard of a home on Perry Street, narrowly missing the house.
The driver headed back onto Perry Street and continued onto Sand Road and then NW Catawba. That's where the suspect hit a concrete wall.
That didn't stop the driver, he took off again, just missing a patrol car and continued onto West Catawba Road where he struck a tree.
The driver and a female passenger were taken to Magruder Hospital by Catawba EMS.

The bill to ban Internet cafes will head to the Ohio Senate floor today. Yesterday a Senate Committee overwhelmingly approved the plans. Two separate proposals would ban operations statewide and block new cafes until the ban takes effect. There are about 800 Internet cafes in Ohio.
