Areas in the northern part of our viewing area in Lenawee County, Michigan, got freezing rain all throughout the afternoon and could see several inches of snow Tuesday night.

At 3:30 p.m. the rain stopped and it turned to sleet.

M-DOT trucks are salting the road along US-223 in Adrian.

"This sucks," says Allie Sloan, who had to go grocery shopping. "I had to pick up a few things, my son needed milk, just a few odds and ends before we get snowed in tomorrow."

In the morning we went inside the garage of the Lenawee County Road Commission on Treat Highway.

15 plows were parked and ready to roll. They fill up with salt after pulling out of the building. Each driver is responsible for 100 miles.

"We cover just over 1500 miles of road in the county," says Scott Merillat, the managing director of the Lenawee County Road Commission. "It's all of Lenawee County. We have this main facility here in Adrian, we have three other districts that the guys come out of."

Along Plank Road, ice is building up on these branches. But driver hope the ice doesn't build up on the roads.

"Oh, come on! Who would like this? This is awful," says Nancy Oberst, a grocery shopper who lives in Tecumseh.

"I work third shift so I'll be driving out around 11 o'clock, when it starts," says Tim Stover of Adrian. " So leaving early for work today, pretty much."
