ADRIAN - The 2013 Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Harris Cup Four field has been set as Adrian College's Arrington Ice Arena will play host to Adrian, Marian, MSOE and Northland on March 1-2.
The semifinals will feature top-seeded Adrian (21-1-3) against fourth-seed and newcomer to the party Northland (10-16-1). The Bulldogs captured the top seed and a first-round bye after winning its sixth straight regular season championship and the Southern Division. The LumberJacks faced off at Lawrence in the first round and lost 3-0 in game one on Friday. Northland rallied on Saturday to win game two 5-2 and then captured the mini-game 1-0.
The second semifinal will feature second-seed Marian (13-11-1) versus third-seed Milwaukee School of Engineering (16-9-2). The Sabres won the Northern Division and earned the first-round bye. The Raiders hosted Lake Forest in the first round and won 3-2 on Saturday in game one. MSOE was forced into the mini-game after falling 2-0 in game two, but won the tie-breaker 1-0 over the Foresters.
Adrian and Northland played each other in the opening series of the season, Nov. 2-3, with the Bulldogs claiming a 7-2 and 12-1 pair of wins on the road. MSOE defeated Marian twice on Dec. 7 (4-1) and Dec. 8 (2-1) in MCHA play and the teams met one other time as a non-conference game with the Sabres winning 3-0 on Jan. 12 at home.
The winners will meet on Saturday with the chance to represent the conference as an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
