Snow, slush in Williams and Fulton Counties

Posted: Updated:

While Toledo got mostly rain on Wednesday, areas to the west in Williams and Fulton Counties dealt with more snow.

Snow has been falling steadily since 10 a.m. but we're not seeing big accumulation thanks to temperatures hovering at 34 degrees.

Instead, drivers, sledders, and folks shoveling driveways are dealing with slush.

Kids in Bryan got out of the house and had a fun snow day at Fountain Park.

"Excited!" says Carter Hoffman, a 5th grader at Bryan Middle School after he sled down the hill.

His friends from Adrian also drove into Bryan to hit the super slushy sledding hill.

"I work for the school so when we have a day off I get a day off, so that's super fun," says Bille Casebere, a mother from Adrian.

"I haven't gone sledding in a long time," says Amber Cousino, a third grader at Lincoln Elementary School in Adrian, where schools were also closed for the day.

"This hill is fast," says Jacob Casebere, a 3rd grader from Adrian.

Bryan schools closed for the day as the Williams County Sheriff's Department issued a level one snow emergency.

Northeast of Bryan, snowfall blurred the landscape in West Unity so you could barely see the water tower.

Private plows and public plows worked to clear the slush from the roads and parking lots.

East of West Unity, Wauseon Schools stayed open on Wednesday.

"Since I live on a hill with the snow and the ice coming down, I've got to keep on it all the time just scraping and shoving," says Javier Lerma as he shovels the driveway of his Wauseon home.

Though Lerma has been out clearing his driveway several times today, he says he wouldn't exactly call it hard work.

"Actually I just stand at the top, put my shovel down, and start to walk," says Lerma as he laughs.
