The 2nd annual "Elias Adin's Comforting Hearts Date Auction" raised more than $7,000 for families dealing with childhood cancer.
Kele Pallitta and her husband Frankie lost their son Elias to cancer 5 years ago. He was just 7 months old. Since then, Pallitta has made it her mission to start a charity that gives back to families who have children with cancer.
On Saturday night the Comforting Hearts held its annual bachelor and bachelorette date auction. Members of the community volunteered to be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with all of the proceeds going directly to the mission of "Elias Adin's Comforting Hearts." 13ABC's Christina Williams served as the Masters of Ceremonies for the event, along with Steve Reamey, a local radio personality.
The auction, held at Irish Eyes Heavenly Pub, raised more than $7,000. The money will be used to provide bags filled with toys and small day trips to local families in need.
